Original artwork description:

A painting inspired by the various walls and objects seen in the landscape during walks and cycling in and around Somerset. From flaking paint, old machinery, fencing, walls, nature and more.

Each pass of the brush, pallet knife and plasterer's trowel dragging colour and marks across the surface to form a textural painting, replicating or inspired by what has been seen or remembered from the landscape in Somerset. This allows me to form a painting that is a collaborative process of mark-making with both intention and chance elements, seeking a more natural form of making akin to the controlled chaos of nature.

the maskingof areas highlights the human made object within the organic forms that intermingle, cover over and interact with each pass of colour and mark.
