Original artwork description:
My collages are made from original monoprints, other printed material, newspapers and sometimes textile fragments. I make the monoprints in batches without any idea of what they may be used for. I sometimes start with an acrylic underpainting and then cut or tear the prints selected into either defined or random shapes. These are then used to make an image on paper or mountboard, usually semi-abstract. The composition is not defined at the beginning but arises organically as I work with various prints and papers. This painting is supplied on an off white background, framed in a narrow grey inset glazed frame.
