Original artwork description:

The continuous line drawing of a proud, decorated tribesman, one in a series of one line drawings. I absolutely love the spontaneous nature of this art form, Pablo Picasso, Jasper John and Alex Calder have all created drawings this way. This is the original drawing, not a print.

The line in a continuous line drawing is unbroken from the beginning to the end. The pen stays in uninterrupted contact with the surface of the paper during the entire length of the drawing. Once you make contact with the paper, you are keeping the line flowing. The line connects forms, bridging spaces between objects. Not only are outside edges described, internal shapes are also drawn.

This method of drawing encourages your eyes and hand and brain to work together. It is a powerful way to create a piece that is both hard edged and fluid, representational and abstract, rational and emotional all in one.

Materials used:

0.5mm fine liner
