In my Tree of life, fish, birds and all sorts of animals come together in harmony, the Tree is made in a totem kind of form, with all the different shapes cut in lino and inked up separately before being assembled on the press for printing. Once the ink has dried, I add some touches in color by hand stamping them on, and at last, but not least, I spend quite a lot of time on freehand embroidering the piece until I am happy with it.
I like to try all kinds of materials to print linocuts on, and had great fun cutting and printing my tree of life on a piece of crisp white linen, the fabric is quite textured
and I just love the way the piece came together, also note that I have added free hand machine embroidery to all parts of the print. I think the wall hanging will lend warmt to any space it is hung in. And how lovely, all ready to be hung up, no framing. And it can be given a handwash if needed in the future, the inks are quite wash proof and oilbased.
The wall hanging measures 18" x 36" ( 45 cm x 92 cm) and comes ready to be hung, with a wooden rod and ribbon, not accounted for in the measurements.
I have signed the wall hanging in stitch on the front and it comes with a certificate of authenticity.
My mum, who is wonderful with a sewing machine, sews for me, so I know the wall hanging looks good and will last.
I ship it to you from my studio in Denmark, it comes safely in a tube and I am very happy to gift wrap (especially if it is for you ;o) It comes with a flier explaining what a linocut is.
I am right here if you have any questions or need help!
