On an old sea chart, I have printed a one color linocut with a quote from Susan Sontag :
"I have not been everywhere, but it is on my list" , I love it! As a printmaker, paper is an obsession and old maps have always fascinated me. I made a bit of a find at a local fleamarket and have a stack of old maps now to do something fun with, but of course, every print is a one off, as there are no repeat maps! You have to be aware that all maps are different, and some are in different color ranges, most ivory colored, some have the land in a jade green. If you want very precisely to know your map, then please ask me for a photo of the print before you purchase. If you like the anticipation, and the adventure of not knowing, then take you chances, they are all lovely!
A hand printed linocut, printed by me, the artist, I print the linocut plate in a warm velvety black, on an old sea chart.
This of course means that the print will be different every time, so this is a monoprint.

"I have not been everywhere" is printed on a beautiful piece of old sea chart, most from the south of Norway, I also have some Danish charts, and an assortment of other places. I only print on the ones I think are fun, that is, have quite a bit of little islands etc.
the image measures 14" x 13.5" (35 cm x 34 cm)
and the piece of chart measures approx. 18" x 20". (45 cm x 50 cm)
I have signed and titled the mono print.
It'll come to you protected by tissuepaper and in a mailing tube so it arrives safely.
