Original artwork description:

Transylvania Twilight is an original painting inspired by a cover of a pulp magazine from the 1940s. Jane has appropriated a picture of an apprehensive woman dressed in a scarlet cape and placed her against the background of a Transylvania castle. In doing so, Jane has referenced and re-interpreted the mythologies of both Little Red Riding Hood and Dracula. These stories play on our fear of lurking predators.
Jane is a well-known Brisbane artist who has been finalist for Lethbridge 10,000, Rotary Art Spectacular, Moreton Bay Art Awards, Noosa Art Award, and Stanthorpe Art Prize. She has also exhibited at various Brisbane and Gold Coast galleries.
