My plein air painting near the "Enchanted Rock", near Fredericksburg Texas, the 2nd largest monolith in the US. It is a pink granite dome that rises 425 feet above the base and covers 640 acres. This area has many rocks and boulders scattered during ancient times.
My eye was attracted by the distinctive rock shape emphasized here in my painting, and the pinkish colors of rock and granite in this area. Part of the high monolith may be seen in the background.
