Artist's description:

This piece was an effort to take the tiger lily subject into a slightly broader context, instead of just painting the flowers themselves, I wanted to see them in the context of the place where they were growing. This piece was influenced by Paul Gauguin and his treatment of foliage in his Tahitian work. As in the other tiger lily piece, I was drawn to the way the lilies seem to glow when the sun shines on them.
