The Wader Boys!!
This mixed media collage has been made on a backing of French vintage linen which has been prepared to hang with a channel at the top so it can be hung from a wooden dowel or a decorative iron pole or similar. The scene has then been created on a separate piece of heavy cotton. The birds, the water and sand has been stitched on using free machine embroidery. Each piece has been outlined with black stitching so that there is a nice depth to the scene. The Oystercatchers are slightly padded so they stand out a little bit. The crabs have been painted on using fabric ink. I have glued on some lovely beads in different blues. The little brownish circles are actually little mirrors. I then stitched this finished scene onto the white linen backing fabric and I framed the scene by stitching on some old jute sacking strips that I felt when well with the colours and the scene in general. I have embroidered my signature onto the front of the collage. The collage is ready to hang but can also be framed if that is preferred.
