Original artwork description:

This New Original One of a Kind artwork is part of the Cowboy Christmas collection. The ones I have done before were about a cowboy and a Christmas tradition with his Mom who has passed. It will be a cowboy who has a Christmas tradition with his Father... who just happens to be a veteran. It is a play off the previous artwork I completed yesterday. Their stories are intertwined. This one is dedicated to my own father and all veterans who have served. Especially our Vietnam Veterans! Note the snow man is a Green Beret Special Forces soldier from the 101st Airborne. This one, entitled "! The Salute - My Ole' Man's Snowman!" Also notice the Coleman Lantern. He LOVED his Coleman!!! Hah! It is sold UNFRAMED but it is painted on the sides so you can hang as is unframed if you wish. This one looks great in a black, blue or gray frame!

Below you can find a find a few paragraphs that tell a short story about this artwork. How I feel the story of it is for me. I would love to hear what story it invokes in you!

A Short Story for “ The Salute - My Ole' Man's Snowman!”.

What a beautiful Christmas morning! No wind just like yesterday on Christmas Eve when I decorated a tree for Mom on the south acres on our ranch. It was a silent and holy night for sure when I placed her nativity decoration under the tree. Today I had to go to our northern range to
to honor the Christmas tradition I always shared with my Dad. Since his passing it has become strong healing therapy for this old cowboy. It began when I was barely 12 years old. One night he told me to saddle up my horse… he wanted to go for a ride to experience the northern lights that were dancing powerfully strong across the sky that night. The silence and serenity is something you really can’t explain adequately. Only people who have experienced the serene silence of snow at night will understand what I am talking about. That night we took our favorite route… along the banks of the Chena river. As we rounded a corner there stood a beautiful snowman. Waiting to be discovered by me. It thrilled me to no end!!!
We built a small fire and watch the Aurora Borealis all night long. What a wonderful moment to have shared with him. So now every Christmas Day I build a snowman on the banks of that river to honor my memory of that day! I put his green beret and medals he earned in Vietnam on the snowman. I feel him there! He was my Hero he always will be. Thank you Father.
