This painting represents a moment in time of human sporting conflict. I was inspired to feature the sheer masculine power and dynamism that Muhammed Ali showed as one of the greatest sportsmen in history. I also wanted to present a slight lean towards an abstract tone in order to highlight the scrimmage that often defines such a one on one struggle.
The painting is executed in Spontaneous Texturism style in thick oils with bright colors, fluid motion, and engaging texture. Canvas is stretched on a heavy-duty 1.5” wide wooden stretcher bar in a gallery wrap style with painting going on all 4 sides, hardware attached, and ready to hang.
