Inspired by the granite and sparsely populated trees of the alpine wilderness. I've always loved the cool blues and purples that appear in the shadows of granite. Various trees and shrubs, the one that can endure the harsh climate, sprout up where they can take hold and root themselves. On this particular hike, I came across this beautiful tree, t he sun's light poured through it's branches, and leaves as it reached up and out into the sky. The green of the foliage surrounding it was lit up a vibrant electric green. Golden hour in all it's glory!
Original Oil painting applied with brushes on archival canvas. Painting is wrapped and painted around the sides, and stretched on heavy-duty stretcher bars. Painting measures 28" x 24" x 1.5." An archival varnish has been applied to accentuate the vibrancy of colors and help protect the original painting.
