Original artwork description:
On the plateau of Clansayes in Provence stood the old mayor's house. I painted this in June when the poppies were in full bloom, it was a riot of colour and the blue sky of Provence was deep Azur blue. The heat was intense and the colours were too. I wanted to capture some of that warmth in this little jewel of a painting.
