Portrait of Roberto Vecchioni (Carate Brianza, 1943), singer-songwriter, lyricist, writer, poet, one of the historical fathers of songwriting in Italy. He was a professor of Greek and Latin for many years, currently teaches Forms of Poetry in Music at the University of Pavia and is to date the only artist to have won many of the most important awards and festivals in Italian music. Recurrent in his work is the interweaving of his own being with a wide variety of myths from history, literature or art, the latter borrowed, not so much to describe their deeds, but rather as an expedient to represent a part of himself.
