A figurative expressionist style painting inspired by the 800th anniversary of the first Nativity scene in history, which is Italian and dates back to 1223. In fact, the first nativity scene was created by St. Francis of Assisi in Greccio, a village in the province of Rieti nestled among the rocks at an altitude of 700 meters. To the saint, Greccio reminded him of Bethlehem, and so he expressed a desire to celebrate Christmas Eve there.
