The Face modern expressionistic large portrait on canvas, 43x39 inches (110x100 cm), 2015.
This painting was created using special iridescent oil colors with metal and chameleon effect - they play with light's conditions. I added them as underlayer - so they don't break the entire harmony, just make the piece more complicated and visually rich. You can see slight color difference between 1st image, which is scanned one, and the 2nd one, which was taken with camera.
The edges are finished as painting's continuation (gallery wrap) - so you always can hang it without a frame.
My name is Grigorii Pavlychev. I am a contemporary artist who works in a modern, at times nearly graphic style. But I am still a painter.
I have a significant interest in fauvism and expressionism. My favorite painter is Egon Schiele, who influenced my painting more than anybody else. So it was natural for me to find my style in the middle of expressionism and contemporary abstract style, despite the fact that I tried many different styles during my education.
From time to time, I like to change the materials I work with. I have a watercolor on canvas series for example. But the main medium I work with is oil paint. I prefer it for its fluidity, removability, volume, and variability. Of course, I also use acrylic colors, but in a very specific way.
I find inspiration in music more than anywhere else. I can find inspiration from an art book or exhibition, but the final starter and the best doping is music.
Today my paintings are in numerous private collections in the USA, Canada, Europe and Australia. The world-famous Mariinsky theatre was decorated with my solo exhibition called “Landscape 2.0." My art has also been on display at famous interior design studios such as Bulthaup and Promemoria. I participated in a lot of exhibitions and projects. I have my own art-group. I've done my own solo exhibitions and projects. So, I think I'm on the right path in my career and I'm really excited about my future as an artist.
