Artist's description:

A sculpture in papier mache and tissue paper. This sculpture shows a man nestled into a stone wall - just head and shoulders.
In this piece, I wanted to show the different colours present in skin but to use only paper....not paint. I wanted to 'paint' with paper so I used lots of layers of different coloured tissue paper to created the effect I was looking for. The result is a piece which is entirely papier mache and paper. There is no wire in the armature and no paint used at all.
The piece is freestanding and is signed and dated on the bottom.

Materials used:

papier mache clay and tissue paper

The comfort of stone (2018)
