Original artwork description:

‘The Barista’s Perspectives’ is part of a small-works series, and it’s also the product of a creative process that I’ve been working through in my art journaling practice; it involves a spontaneous state of mind, allowing and welcoming the mistake while embracing it to learn how to solve a problem creatively.

I have special appreciation for the moments that I’ve spent in good company having a nice conversation, or just by myself while enjoying the lovely atmosphere and a warm cup of coffee. I think coffee culture is beautiful and inspiring, and so baristas surely have interesting stories to tell and unique points of view based on what they’ve learned from the people they see and serve every day, the craft and expertise in coffee-making.

Throughout my art-making process I enjoy creating textured surfaces with different kinds of tools such as stiff brushes and knives; I like to use diverse mediums including molding paste, wax pastels, and paper scraps.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, wax pastels, paper
