With these pieces I create the background Ink study first and then looking at the Abstract I decide on how best to incorporate an animal or insect into the spaces. Rather like looking at clouds, I let the composition of the abstract dictate the outcome. These colours and patterns seemed to particularly relate to an owl. I've used negative shape to emphasize the branch.
