This thick impasto Oil Painting on High Quality Stretched Canvas was painted using a number of different sized Palette Knives to apply the thick paint. I really like thick impasto Artworks and like to paint like this from time to time. This is a night view of Taipei City, Taiwan painted from the balcony of my apartment looking towards Taipei 101. This is one of the thickest paintings I have done and it was built up by overlaying layers of Oil paint. I enjoy the night-time colours of Taipei City as there are always a lot of contrasts between bright neon lights and darker rooftops. In this painting, the darker rooftops are hundreds of apartment buildings that are in the 2 miles between my apartment and Taipei 101. It is always an interesting challenge to try to capture the different shapes, angles and scale of cityscapes. This painting was done over a few overcast evenings and the lights of the city were creating the bright grey colour of the sky, I like the rougher finish with less detail than in my usual works.

Shipping rates have increased in price all around the world due to Covid and other complications. Due to this I have had to increase the the cost of shipping my artworks in line with the Delivery Companies. I will always strive to find the cheapest possible option for the customer (usually my local POST OFFICE EMS Recorded Delivery, but unfortunately they don’t deliver worldwide at the moment) If the amount of shipping charged at purchase is less than the shipping company charges then I will refund the difference to the customer. This refund will be done after the picture has arrived safely and has been accepted.
