While living in Tallinn, Estonia I became a bit obsessed with the main local souvenir the Matryoshka. On visiting Russia I found a society with great diversity. I painted a large number of different Matryoshkas showing all types of things I noticed in St Petersburg.
It has now been a few years since moving from Northern Europe but I still get asked to paint Matryoshkas. I painted 'SuPer ALco' as we lived in Tallinn across from an alcohol shop by the same name. The Russians and Finnish were always there in many altered states...

At the moment I am re painting a few of them as they all sold too quickly. They look great in a group of two or three.

I post Matryoshkas on their stretcher frames. So you can hang them without needing to get them framed.
