If you want a colorful painting to transform a room this one may be it. 'Sunset at Sea 3' is large ( 1 metre square), with a warm glow that will make you want to visit the sea again - very soon!
'Sunset at Sea 3' was painted rapidly, in the first few days of 2024. Paints (blues, orange, magenta, yellow and Payne's gray) were added directly to the canvas, then spread with a large palette knife. Finally a large brush was used to smooth out the transitions. Marine paintings are a favourite of mine, after a 40 year career as a marine and estuarine biologist.
This modern painting would suit a new apartment or home, but looks good in our Victorian home too. It is simultaneously dynamic and calming.
