Weather, early morning mist or evening sun, which goes in and out behind the clouds. The effects are ever changing, and sometimes only last a few minuets or even seconds.
So this painting is a recreation of the streaming sun, back lighting the tress and splashing pools of brilliance onto the carpets of spring bluebells.
