Le Corbusier's Unite d'habitation may not be to everyone's liking but it is a significant piece of architecture and one I felt compelled to draw. He pioneered the concept of high-rise housing, 'machines for living' and this scheme in Marseille became the blue-print for many subsequent (inferior) developments. The image is kept as simple and graphic as possible to highlight the architectural purity of the form with the bright splashes of colour in the balcony recesses.
ink drawing, digitally coloured on Hahnemühle Bamboo 290gsm paper
