It's a wild day on the heath and I've joined a group from the Princes Drawing school to spend 10 days painting en plein air in famous London landmarks. This is Hampstead Heath on a blowy, chilly day in May and I'm painting a big watercolour in just 3 hours. My palette is New Gamboge, Alizarine, Viridian, Ultramarine and my objective is to capture movement and light without getting too involved with detail.
