I am influenced by Van Gogh as I have a fascination about sunflowers and I have painted them in many different ways. The petals make such interesting shapes and even when they are past their prime they still have a charm. This still life is a colourful painting using best quality oil paints. I have included lemons and limes in a bowl - their colours blend beautifully with the yellows of the sunflowers. It is an impressionistic style suited to this joyful painting
