Square Root is an unusual little painting made up of square, rectangular and curved geometric shapes with sections of convergence, in mixed tones of luminous light turquoise, deep reds, cream and khaki green mixed with old gold. It pays homage to the mathematics and algebra that take shape in the physical universe and are a source of mystery as much as balance.

This small painting was created using acrylic on thick watercolour paper, then varnished for an enamel effect.

The frame is a rare and very old red-brown leather frame with small roses in relief, found and restored for the occasion. It has a small hook on the back so it can be hung on a wall.
