Original artwork description:

This picture is one of a pair, one looking east and then west from almost the same position on that New Forest shore. This painting looks west across the Solent with old oaks at the waters edge. The high spring tide, the sunny windless day with a bright blue sky and a blue sea was a rare sight. I needed to take advantage of these conditions and capture that day. The frame is a fine grained wood painted off white and sealed with a satin varnish.
