This landscape was painted in the city of Chernigov near the Strizhen River. I live nearby, but only recently discovered these picturesque backyards and have had the pleasure of painting them several times at different times of the year. This piece was painted in early spring. I love the juxtaposition of small old houses and high-rise buildings.
