A Springtime sesson with Vicky created this light bright image. Mixing techniques, to keep a lightness and a looseness in the painting and the paper.
Yupo paper is a printing paper with a water-resistant surface. Prior to painting I crumpled the paper to create pattern. (see photos) Those creases capture the watercolour on the paper (see detail photo). The colours and paint pattern background influenced by spring flowers in the room. Finally the model was drawn in with black conte.
The painting also looks great vertical. Reminding me of a stone sculpture of a cherub on a wall. So you have the option to hang portrait or landscape style.
Mounting/Mat Suggestion: An image is included of how the piece could look if float-mounted or put behind mountboard(s) [in the US known as mats] before framing.
NB the colour of the picture may be slightly different on your monitor/phone depending on settings.
