This original hand-pulled abstract acrylic monotype print on paper is done on the eve of the spring equinox with the the warm/cool colours of green, lavender, burnt sienna and yellow ochre. A delightful print with the pulse of new green growth that spring brings!
The process of monotype printing is one in which paint/ink is put down on a plate (plexiglass, etc.), the image is constructed on that plate, paper is put down on top of it, pressure is applied to the back of the paper and then the paper is pulled off the plate. The image is then transferred onto the paper. This results in ONE print only. Once this print is gone, it's gone. Done in lightfast and archival-quality top of the line professional Golden and Winsor Newton artist paints.
The back of the print may have paint smudges on as it's part of the immediacy of the process. I can't stop to clean my hands and sometimes the paint oozes over the back, but it in no way harms the image on the front. The paper is quite thick.
