The Molse Meren (Mol Lakes) are located near the pretty Belgian town of Mol close to Antwerp. It was one of the first warm days of spring 2017 and I was on a watercolour painting workshop on the topic of “light” with the Belgian Watercolour Instiute of which I am a member. While many of my fellow watercolourists set up their easels in the lovely local church to paint the sunshine streaming through the windows, I couldn´t bear to be indoors so I set out to find a nice outdoor spot. These two boats moored at the Zilvermeerhaven Port Aventura caught my attention and I painted them on site in the warm afternoon sunshine.
