This is from a new series that I am working on in preparation for an exhibition. Most of the pieces from that series are very large but this one is of a smaller scale. This jewel-like piece is an extremely textured mixed media on an acrylic panel. There is so much detail that one can get lost in it. Sadly, The pictures truly do not do this piece justice. It reminds me of water washing away and leaving the bits of shell and stone behind, wet and catching the glimmer of sunshine....just beautiful!!! It has been finished with a wonderful high gloss varnish that makes the colors even more vibrant as well as provide UV protection.
