My paintings contrast the speed of gestural brushstrokes with the slow precision of hand embroidery to explore the many polarities we exist between. I use painting as a way to make illusions of space alongside paint as a material in its own right by collaging cut paintskins into my work. These tensions aim to find a point of balance as a temporary resolution to the increasing division I find around me.
