We see a bride here with her groom. Despite the upcoming wedding and the beautiful outfits, something disturbing is in the air. In my work, I often look for situations that seem recognizable at first glance, but after consideration give an uncomfortable feeling. Similarly in this painting, does the bride marry the devil in a fit of insanity? And what is that ring-tailed lemur actually doing there?
