I have had in mind to paint a Raven called Snape for a while. Black is a very flat colour to paint with, in fact black seldom is really black in nature and it doesn't feature at all in my paintbox. I have avoided it on Snapes plumage completely by using blue, purple, green and a deep grey.
Snape is standing on some unfortunate soul long since past, who I actually really enjoyed painting. Human anatomy- particularly bones has featured in my studies for a long time, but rarely in paint!
This painting if offered un-framed but mounted with good quality neutral mount board.
