The works from the SMALL TALK series are sweet, colourful paintings which will give a pop of colour to any room. They can be hung both horizontally and vertically. The SMALL TALK paintings are perfect to combine together for a fun and unique gallery wall. The artworks are painted on thick paper from coffee table books, and the original images can be seen through the paint, which gives them a sense of depth. Paying attention to the layers and what lies behind creates many interesting images for the viewer to explore.

By building up many layers of texture and colour, using brushes and palette knives, Angelika creates a rich surface and vibrant relationships between random shapes and deliberate markings in her work. She also uses watercolour and oil pastels to heighten the impressions and create depth and movement in her paintings.

The abstract, gestural forms on the canvas have many sources of inspiration, a pink sunset, a subtle white washed image of a pale winter day or a delicate flower are examples of images which are blended together to create an abstract form of beauty.

Materials used:

Acrylic paint, watercolour and oil pastels on paper
