Action caricature and portrait. 4B pencil & 6B graphite stick sketch, 14 x 10 inches, 35 x 26 cm, on a simple smooth white majong paper.
Actually untitled, Sluice is the name on the event I was invited to sketch one night. This was one of the more memorable sketches done there .. the owner reciting poetry while the other was creating the beats & effects.
These sketch was done on location, inside the club, surrounded by jostling crowds and working in dim light. The people were not really posing, just being themselves. This is part of a series done between 1999 and 2000 in various nightclubs in Singapore. Many of the sketches were bought up by the until then unsuspecting clubber!
In the lower left of the close up picture you can make out the slight yellow stain on the page. Then there's me me sketching on location back then (2000).
