Original artwork description:
A harbour scene composed simply of a group of boats on a harbour slipway. Much detail has been removed to enable the shapes of the basic elements to create a strong composition. The strong, simplified shadows and areas of flat, textured paint create the composition. Colour relationships, line, tone and texture are emphasised more than detail. However the painting hovers between figuration and abstraction.
