A friend, recently got divorced and this print came out of our many conversations about how to move on with her life.
I printed this all the way to the edge of the paper, first making the drypoint plate with the text, of course reversing the text so it would print correctly, I then added watercolor to a pvc plate. With the help of moist paper, I lifted the watercolor of the plate and then printed the drypoint on top of that in a warm sepia. You think printmakers like to complicate life...? oh yes we do!! But it came out fun and vibrant, yet slightly melancholy, just what I wanted.
The print measures 24" x 17" (60 cm x 44 cm) and would look best framed floated, that is, the framer attaches it to a background so you can see the edges of the paper.
I have signed, and numbered the print 1 of 1, as I only did 3 prints from the plate and they were all very different.
I mail "Single Girl" to you in a tube from my studio in Denmark, and have many years experience of packing a print, see my reviews, so it arrives safely.
Thanks for visiting and hope I'll see you soon again!
