We had a lovely bouquet of carnations a little while ago. They coloured our front room wonderfully but after a few weeks most had past their best. These three were the last blooms and I thought I'd paint them. I wanted the image to be simple, the colour scheme designed to draw the eye to the vibrancy of the petals.
