This actually belongs to my mountain series. Off and on I will go back to it.
This is a work in many layers with quite a bit of texture as you can see in the detail pictures. I worked very informally but still wanted to have a slight representation of a mountain landscape. I used some oil pastel to add marks.
In the end I added a free-flowing, gestural line over the existing artwork.
The work is mainly in blue, with some white, off-white and a small touch of green.
The village of Sils Maria is embedded in a spectacular landscape in Switzerland. Mainly in autumn clouds weave into the valley giving the impression of a snake.
The sides of the canvas are painted in dark-blue.
I added a fixture at the back of the canvas so it is ready to hang without a frame.
The work in inches is 23.6 x 19.7 x 0.6
