A Forest of Dean sculpture inspired by old ruins and castles. This one depicting a lancet window has part of the stone left uncarved, highlighting the natural formation of stone and emulating the erosion of old buildings, specifically ruined castles near where I live in Wales. The markings on the sides and reverse are inspired by ogham script and markings on the standing stones in this area. 'Silence' is part of a series inspired by archaeology, focusing on a quiet stillness reinforced by the timeless nature of stone. This sculpture is suitable for outdoors as well as indoors.
