Artist's description:

The old shrimp boat that's trimmed in red,
A rust-spot along its front, right side,
Doubtless has weathered many a storm
Having settled in for the ride.
Surviving at the mercy of the sea,
Grateful for whatever is gleaned—
It's long symbolized a vocation of life,
And it is for the family a means.
The work is honest, but hard and grueling,
Ask any shrimper that there might be.
They spend long times away from home,
But such is the cost of living, you see.

In providing such entre for the nation,
The shrimper honors his obligation.
