My little goats, are very mischiveous, as goats are, they are fun, run around a lot and are generally the most entertaining nuisance you can have in your life! On top of this, they eat thistles, just there, is cause for much admiration!
a handprinted set of aquatint etchings; I ink up the 4 little copperplates for each pair of prints pulled, this means that each print will have small differences to the next. I hope you treasure this as a sign of individuality and part of what makes an original print an original. I use first class papers and ink to give my work the best possible longevity.
You can of course ask me to print the goats in a color of your choosing.
Aquatint is a technique where deep tones can be achieved on a copperplate etching, it involves rosin, that gets melted onto the copperplate with the help of a burner.
If you would like to see me make and print an etching, go to www.youtube.com search under my name and watch my printmaking movies, or have a look in the "me at work" section of my shop.
Your little goats are printed in an edition of only 50 prints, please be aware that I can't guarantee that you get the number on the photo, or that the numbers match.
Each print is numbered, titled and signed by me.
The pair are printed on a piece of warm cream heavy printmaking paper, perfect for the image, the paper measures 12" x 8" (30 x 20cm) and the actual images, the 4 copper plates each measure 3" x 3"" (7.5 x 7.5 cm) x 4 that is!
This of course means they slip right into a standard frame A4.
I'll mail your etchings in a small tube to ensure they do not get damaged, the prints are wrapped in tissue paper and cellophane and comes with a nice "Original Print by Mariann Johansen-Ellis" sticker and a leaflet explaining what an etching is. If you are giving the etchings away as a gift, let me know and I'll wrap them in a nice piece of paper for you!
Thank you for looking in my shop and very welcome back!
