A tall slim form curving slightly backwards and carved from seasoned oak, this sculpture has a lancet window recess and two circular windows at the top, inspired by Pembrokeshire castles local to the sculptor's home. The base, carved from the same tree, has the same texture carved into the surface to give a fully resolved finish to the piece. Markings are carved into the surface of the oak base as well as the main curving form, to give an aged look to the whole piece. The texture illustrates the worn nature of the surfaces either side of these castle windows, and emphasises a depth to the sculpture as a whole. This sculpture has a hard wax oil finish, particularly suitable for indoors.
