Semiramis was the queen of the Assyrian empire in the 9th Century BC, famous for building the walls of Babylon and restoring the empire to it's former glory. I used geometric shapes and lines to symbolise the great rebuilding she oversaw, and the rising sun hints at the promise of her reign.
This is an original, acrylic on canvas painting. It is painted on deep profile canvas, varnished and ready to hang.
