Secret Garden. Sicily. Giardino segreto

Welcome to my sanctuary, where nature's secrets unfold in the serene beauty of "Secret Garden." This captivating landscape painting invites you to immerse yourself in a world where time stands still and magic whispers through the ancient foliage.

At the heart of the composition stands a majestic old ficus tree, its gnarled branches reaching skyward like ancient sentinels guarding the secrets of the garden. Beneath its sheltering canopy lies a tranquil pond, where ducks glide gracefully amidst reflections of dappled light.

Inspired by the timeless allure of Sicily's natural landscapes, I sought to capture the essence of this enchanting garden on canvas. The centuries-old ficus, with its intricate roots and sprawling branches, serves as a focal point, imbuing the scene with a sense of grandeur and mystery.

In portraying the pond, I aimed to evoke its serene beauty without overshadowing the majestic presence of the ficus. Employing transparent oil painting techniques, I endeavoured to convey the ethereal atmosphere and vibrant hues of this secluded oasis.

"Secret Garden" holds a special place in my collection, representing the profound connection between art and nature, and the enduring magic of Sicily's hidden treasures.


This painting was participated in the exhibition International Biennial of Etruria in Rome in 2023.
