This view was painted using a reference photograph of the coastline at Cloughey, taken by a friend who lives in Northern Ireland. I found the rocky nature of the coast fascinating, providing a wealth of shape and texture to the seascape. The clarity of the sea water was great too, revealing the sea bed beneath... all good fun to paint!
