This is a large oil Painting on a box canvas inspired by the waves and moody skies around the North Devon Beaches.
The realism of the clouds and movement captured in the waves gives an atmospheric feeling along with the contrasting blues and greys and a slight hint of gold in the sky.
I work in layers and build up fine glazes mixing larger brush strokes with fine detail to give more of a 3 dimensional perspective. The painting is then finished with a final wax layer to seal and protect the oils and is ready to hang without a frame.
